In Dole’s worldwide operations, the Company policy adheres to local regulations, and, where applicable, United States law, EPA regulations, as well as to the internationally recognized environmental protection standards set by the European Union.

In countries where no government standards exist, Dole applies European Union or World Health Organization (WHO) risk-based environmental regulatory standards. These standards determine Dole’s continuous improvement targets for air quality, water quality and human safety. Dole’s environmental programs also conform to certain guidelines endorsed by international environmental and other standard-setting organizations, such as the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
